Visual Arts

In the visual arts course (Art IA, IB, 2DA and 2DB), students will explore the world of traditional art mediums, focusing on techniques and skills that are essential for artistic development. The curriculum is structured around the California Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) standards, offering a balanced approach that includes:

  1. Artistic Perception: Students will learn to observe and interpret the visual world, understanding the elements of art and principles of design through direct observation and practice.

CTE Digital Art and Design

 

CTE Digital Art and Design is a comprehensive course that prepares students for careers in the digital media industry. The curriculum aligns with the California CTE Arts, Media, and Entertainment standards and focuses on developing skills in design and digital illustration.

  1. Understanding the Principles of Design: Students will explore the foundational elements and principles of design, including color theory, composition, typography, and visual hierarchy.

  2. Digital Illustration Techniques: The course provides hands-on experience with industry-standard software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Students will learn techniques for creating vector illustrations, digital paintings, and graphic designs.
