Foundations in Personal Finance (Period 3)

Course Description

Foundations in Personal Finance is a 10 week mathematical modeling course that offers students multiple opportunities to use, construct, question, model, and interpret financial situations. It provides students a motivating, young-adult centered financial context for understanding and applying the mathematics they are guaranteed to use in the future, and is aligned with the recommendations of the Common Core State Standards, as stated in this excerpt: “...all students should be strongly encouraged to take math in all years of high school. ...An array of challenging options will keep math relevant for students, and give them a new set of tools for their futures.”
